The Healthcare Access Directorate of the WURA Hope Initiative operates with the primary goal of ensuring that women, especially widows, have access to essential healthcare services to maintain their well-being, particularly at old age. Its core responsibilities include:
Healthcare Provision
Facilitating access to healthcare services by collaborating with healthcare providers and institutions to offer medical consultations, check-ups, and treatments for women, especially focusing on preventive care and management of chronic conditions.
Health Education
Conducting health education programs and workshops to raise awareness among women about preventive healthcare practices, nutrition, maternal and child health, and other relevant health topics, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
Screening and Early Detection
Organizing health screening camps and initiatives to detect and prevent common health issues among women, such as breast cancer screenings, cervical cancer screenings, and screenings for other prevalent health conditions.
Referral Services
Facilitating referrals for women who require specialized medical care or treatment beyond the scope of the initiative’s resources, ensuring that they have access to appropriate healthcare facilities and specialists.
Healthcare Infrastructure Support
Advocating for improved healthcare infrastructure in underserved communities, including the establishment or enhancement of clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities to better meet the needs of women, especially widows.
Community Health Promotion
